The incident happened on March 24, 2014.
According to our partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Patrick Dwayne Durant was questioned by police when an officer noticed he had the wrong plates on his car.
Court documents say Durant appeared “to be extremely nervous” and admitted he had active warrants for his arrest.
His three-year-old son was sitting in the front seat and told officers there was a gun hidden behind an empty compartment under the radio. Police found the handgun and Durant was arrested. He was recently charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
