FARMINGTON, MO (KTVI) - A suspicious package and threatening letter was discovered in the mail room of the Centene Corporation in Farmington just just before 1pm Thursday. Police, FBI, US Postmaster, fire and the hazardous materials team were all on the scene.

Five mail-room employees were in direct contact with the package containing a powder, according to Farmington police. The package and its content were quarantined outside the building. Seventeen additional employees were quarantined. They were in the mail-room when the package was reported.

Employees in the building were evacuated. Authorities did this as a precautionary measure. They are trying to complete an investigation.

They had a similar scare here about four years ago. It turned out to be a hoax.

No one has been transported to the hospital,  or showing any symptoms.
