Five officers assaulted during Wednesday’s protest in Ferguson

FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) - Five police officers were assaulted last night during protests outside the Ferguson Police Department.

Police say the officers were hit by rocks, bottles and a metal rod. Five people were arrested for peace disturbance and refusing to disperse. At one point about 200 people gathered in front of the police department.  They knocked over barricades and blocked traffic several times.  Extra police were called in. After the arrests the crowd moved to a parking lot.
