O'FALLON, MO (KTVI) - Shane Kitterman moved to O'Fallon Illinois when he registered as a sex offender. He told authorities that he was homeless. He was arrested Wednesday after inconsistencies with where he was telling police he was living. The state of Illinois requires homeless offenders update the police where they've stayed the every 7 days. Officers out on patrol weren't seeing him anywhere.
Police didn't offer details on how they tracked down Kitterman, but he is no stranger to the law. According to police, Kitterman has had 105 charges filed against him, 22 felonies.
St. Clair County court documents show Kitterman was charged with a class 2 felony in 2005 after committing an act of sexual conduct with a boy under the age of 13. Since then he failed to register as a sex offender numerous times. He has been charged with theft in cities all across St. Clair County.
Kitterman is being held in the St Clair county Jail on a $100,000 bond.
