ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Former Fox C6 Superintendent Dianne Critchlow has taken a lot of heat over the booking of a $1000 a night hotel for her and her husband last year for an Orlando conference at taxpayers expense. But, I learned through a Freedom of Information Act release that she's not alone in being responsible for this deal. The current acting Superintendent Tim Crutchley Actually made the room reservations at the Hard Rock Hotel. Booking more than a $1,000 night for Critchlow's room .and an average $340 a night for rooms for five other couples, including the ones for him and his wife.

The conference ended up costing taxpayers more than $9,000. When it should have cost you around $3,000.

I learned another startling fact, your federal dollars paid for this trip for top administrators and their spouses. The federal government gives school districts money so teachers and administrators can get professional development to keep up on the latest information for teaching and running a school district. But, instead of using all the money for that, the Fox School District hoarded that federal cash.

The Freedom of Information Act request revealed, "By December 2012 Fox School District had an accumulation  of unspent Title 11 money in excess of $600,000." and  "An effort began to spend down the accumulation of profession development dollars.

Tim Crutchley has reimbursed the district the cost of sending him and his wife to Orlando.
