Blaze destroys building in downtown Mount Sterling

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. (AP) _ Illinois state fire investigators are trying to pinpoint what sparked a blaze that destroyed a two-story building in downtown Mount Sterling.

WGEM-TV ( reports that no injuries resulted from the Friday fire that took firefighters from three departments more than eight hours to control.

The building had offices on the lower level and apartments upstairs.

Mount Sterling Police Chief Brandon Norris says roughly eight people were evacuated from the building.
