ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The Rams could move to Los Angeles when their lease expires after this season at the Edward Jones Dome. FOX Sports announcer Joe Buck is very candid about the way he feels about Rams owner Stan Kroenke's handling of the situation. He praises Dave Peacock, the former Anheuser-Busch President. Peacock has been appointed by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon to lead a study to keep the Rams in St. Louis. Buck called Peacock the absolute right guy for the important job of keeping the NFL in St. Louis.

"I've heard from people in the league that I respect, who have power in the league, that it is just a matter of time. That Stan Kroenke's plan is to go to LA. That is not groundbreaking or earth shattering news. I'm really disappointed in Stan Kroenke."

Buck continues, "I don't know how you can be an NFL owner in a city like this, with the kind of sports fans we have here, and be as invisible as this man has been. So, any smart person sits back and says, 'he is keeping his options open.' Otherwise you step out front, hoping you're going to get support from fans here, and say 'we're going to do our darnedest to keep the Rams in St. Louis.' It has never been said. He is never seen. He is not around town. I think clearly his objective as a shrewd business man is to cash-in in LA; whatever that is going to cost him. But, I know there are a lot of hoops he is going to have to jump through, some he may not even be aware of. He is a smart guy, but a lot has to happen in order for a franchise to move."

"It would be crushing to me if we lost a NFL franchise for the second time. This city is too good for that. It is not a reflection of the city or the fans. In this case I think it is a reflection of the ownership that really is not invested in having a team here." said Joe Buck.

Martin Kilcoyne asks, "You know Dave Peacock. He is spearheading this thing for the Governor..."

Joe Buck interrupts, "Thank God. The biggest hope we as a city have of keeping the Rams in St. Louis or having the NFL in whatever form that may come is Dave Peacock. He is a smart guy, he was at Anheuser-Busch, he ran the thing. He has all these relationships within the NFL. He is a major player here. I think that before this is all said and done; this is the beginning of a long stretch here. Anyone who thinks they are just going to pick up and go next year, it is not that easy. That may be Stan Kroenke's objective from people I have talked to. But, for Dave Peacock to be involved; we have an ace in the hole. Someone who is smarter than most people he is talking to."

Fox 2 Sports Director Martin Kilcoyne and Joe Buck also talked about the Cardinals playoff run in 2014 that he called on Fox Sports. Buck says he enjoys being the voice of the Cardinals in the post-season. He likes waking up at his home in St. Louis and being able to go to the games in Busch Stadium. It is a comfortable thing for him to do. He says that calling games in the post season is five times harder than the Superbowl because fans are so territorial.
