ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-Veteran goaltender Martin Brodeur will practice with the St. Louis Blues on Friday. The team is in need of another goaltender after Brian Elliott suffered a lower body injury in Tuesday’s shootout loss to Ottawa. The Blues are not commenting on the arrangement.

Brodeur, 42, is a free-agent. He spent the past 21 seasons with the New Jersey Devils, but the two cut ties after last season.

The Blues recalled goalie prospect Jordan Binnington under emergency conditions but he is inexperienced. The team is seeking a reliable backup to Jake Allen.

Brodeur, a future Hall of Famer, ranks No. 1 in the league in all-time victories with 688.
