SOUTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI)-Charges were filed Friday morning against a man for beating his father to death with a baseball bat. Andrew Dunn, 31, is charged with first degree murder and one count of armed criminal action. Investigators say he attacked his father, Dr. Terry Dunn, outside a state office building on south Lindbergh near Lemay Ferry around 10:00am Thursday.
Dr. Dunn was a consultant to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). He had provided psychological consulting services to the department for more than a dozen years.
Dunn, 61, was described in a DESE news release by a state spokesman as a "valued medical consultant who was well liked by staff."
Terry Lee Dunn received his Ph.D. in counseling from St. Louis University in 1998.
