ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  The Jewish holiday of Hanukkah begins at sundown Tuesday.

The eight day festival of lights symbolizes the re-dedication of the holy temple in Jerusalem, in biblical times. It’s celebrated by lighting candles on a menorah and eating foods fried in oil.
