NORMANDY, MO (KTVI) - Normandy School District parent Ashley Turner is upset, she says her 6-year-old daughter Aniyah is being bullied at Lucas Crossing Elementary both on campus and on the bus. In the beginning, the first grader complained about kids picking on her. Then Ashley says the verbal assaults turned physical. Hospital records show Aniyah was assaulted on November 24th and again on December 16th. Family members became more outraged when they discovered that Aniyah suffered a hematoma at school and once again ended up in the emergency room. The family says the district didn`t do enough to stop it.
FOX 2 contacted Normandy school district and officials responded by saying in part:
"The safety and security of our students is a top priority. The NSC is currently investigating the allegations and is working with parents and school officials to gain more information on the matter"
First Student also responded to FOX 2`s calls and says student safety is a top priority. They're also investigating and taking the allegations very seriously.
While the investigations continue, Turner is filing police reports and making plans for her daughter to find a new school, she also says the child involved in Tuesday`s incident has been disciplined and suspended.
'I fear for her safety I do not want to send my child to school to get an education and get a phone call saying she`s not coming back’, Turner said.
