Jacksonville teacher accused of sex abuse with student

JACKSONVILLE, IL (KTVI)-A rehab and mobility instructor at the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired has been charged with sex abuse involving a student at the school in Jacksonville.

James Strader, 28, is being held in the Morgan County Jail following his arrest by state police. He had been employed at the state-operated school since July 1, 2014.

The Morgan County State’s Attorney says Strader is accused of sexual conduct with a student older than 13.

Strader was placed on paid administrative leave Dec. 3, when state officials were first alerted to the allegations.
