Homeless man severely burned in tent fire

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – A man is hospitalized in critical condition following a fire inside a tent at a homeless encampment near the Mississippi River near downtown St. Louis.

The 50-year-old man was sleeping inside his tent near north Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard and Carr Street around 9:45 Friday when the fire broke out.

He suffered burns to his hands, chest, neck and face.

The bomb and arson unit is investigating.
