GRANITE CITY, IL (KTVI) - FOX 2 obtained video from the Granite City Police Department that exposes bad drivers, especially those running red lights. A number of close calls and bad accidents is why the department chose to post videos online to keep bad drivers in check. The camera is located at the intersection of 27th and Madison. It was installed in 2009 and is the only one in the city, and police say it`s keeping accident numbers down.

Before the installation police saw 10 to 15 accidents per year in at the intersection and now that number is down to four.  The cameras bring in $100,000 dollars per year in revenue. If caught, you face a 100 dollar fine.
