Runners eager to get a jump on their new years resolution to live a little healthier showed up in downtown St. Louis for a 5K run. At least some of them did.
"We`ve got about 600 folks registered for today`s event but it doesn't look like we have 600, I`m sure a few folks are sleeping in." said Jeff Promnitz.
For the past three years devoted runners have been participating in the commitment day 5K. But, this year, the run is only one part of a full weekend of events at the Life Time Fitness Center in West County. It is designed to help people keep their commitments beyond commitment day.
"We want you to set a goal that is easily attainable and then start slow so you can be consistent with a good routine a couple of days a week and then try to increase that." said Brad Major.
Whether these runners keep their commitments is anyone`s guess. At least they are starting the new year off on the right foot.
