Average Ameren bill to go up $10 in proposed rate hike

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – This Monday is your chance to speak out about a proposed Ameren Missouri rate hike. The utility wants a $264 million dollar rate increase. It is to cover new electrical sub-stations in St. Louis and improvements to power plants around the state. The average bill would go up about $10 a month.

The Missouri Public Service Commission is beginning a series of public hearings about the proposal. The first meeting is at noon Monday at the Holiday Inn on Watson road in Sunset Hills. Another meeting is at 6pm at St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley in Ferguson.
