(KTVI)- Bird lovers can have a watch party during Eagle Days at the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge. The weekend will bring the best bald-eagle watching many have seen all year. According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, January is a great time to see the birds as they move from the freezing north to find more warmth and food in the south.

Families can see this migration for free. The kids can also stay safe from the cold in warming tents filled with displays and crafts.

Many agencies are coming together for this annual event. There will be live eagle programs from the World Bird Sanctuary. Both the Missouri and Illinois Conservation Departments are providing volunteers and events, along with the Great Rivers Greenway.
