Jennings man accused of assaulting ex-girlfriend

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (KTVI) – The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged a Jennings, Missouri man for allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend outside a Metro East restaurant over the weekend.

According to Lt. Mike Hoguet, a spokesman for the Fairview Heights Police Department, the incident occurred just before 12:40 a.m. in the parking lot of Applebee’s on Ludwig Drive. Officers responded to calls of a domestic altercation.

When police arrived, they found a woman bleeding from the nose and with swelling to her face. Witnesses said a man had punched her several times and knocked her down.

The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Darvin Crumble, initially refused to be handcuffed before being taken into custody.

Crumble was charged with four counts of aggravated battery (public place), four counts of domestic battery (physical contact), two counts of domestic battery (bodily harm), and one count of resisting a police officer. His bond is set at $40,000.
