TOWN & COUNTRY, MO (KTVI) - It was a busy night and morning for road crews on both sides of the river. They have been out treating roads making sure they`re as safe as possible. Things seem to be running pretty smoothly with no serious crashes reported. However, MoDOT does have some concerns as temperatures drop.

MoDOT isn`t taking any chances with the weather situation. They had full crews out overnight and that continued this morning. MoDOT says overall nearly 200 trucks have been out on the roads. Crews are laying down a rock salt and brine mix where necessary.

IDOT also had trucks out overnight into this morning. Crews from the City of St. Louis also put salt on the roads.

MoDOT says it is going to keep crews out for some time today especially with moisture on the roads that could refreeze. After MoDOT crews get through salting and treating roads, they will not get a break.

Crews will then switch gears and go to pothole repair.
