President François Hollande’s administration expresses deep appreciation for Obama’s statement

(CNN) — President François Hollande’s administration expressed Monday the French president’s deep appreciation for President Barack Obama’s strong statement and actions ever since the attacks of last Wednesday, according to a senior official in Hollande’s office.

The official said Obama was “very present” from the start. He was one of the first leaders to call Hollande on Wednesday, and then made several strong public statements.

All French, especially Hollande greatly appreciated Obama’s “exceptional visit to the French Embassy in Washington. “For us It was an emotional moment of solidarity,” the official said.
