A 200-foot Ferris wheel, roller coaster, and other rides are planned. It would be ‘Phase 2’ of the development. But the developer needs the St. Louis Board of Aldermen to approve $18.5 million in tax increment financing (TIF).
The redevelopment project consists of the portion of Union Station not already being redeveloped as part of the $50 million hotel renovation.
Phase 2 would be completed in 2016. It’s expected to create approximately 350 new, full-time jobs and is projected to draw at least a million visitors a year.
Otis Williams, executive director of the St. Louis Development Corporation, sits down with John Pertzborn to discuss additional details.
