GULF BREEZE, FL — Dramatic video of a police officer being dragged during a traffic stop was captured by a dash camera.  One of the witnesses to the accident was the officer’s teen daughter.  She did not know the injured officer was her dad when she stopped to help.

Sgt. Kerstan Tatro pulled over Amy Lee Giorgio, 30, for a speeding violation Monday. WALA-TV reports she driving erratically and was going 65mph in a 35mph zone.   His police cruiser captured the traffic stop on video.

Officer Tatro tried to take the keys out of her car.  Giorgio drove off while the officer was still half way in the car.  He was dragged by the vehicle and ends up rolling into the median.

The officer’s daughter was on the way home from the mall when she saw the incident, according to WALA-TV. The video shows her getting out of a red car to join the group of bystanders surrounding him.

When she realizes that the officer is her father she begins crying, “Dad, are you okay?”

“Oh my god,” she continued crying. “That’s my dad!”  The others in the crowd try to comfort her.

Tatro is married with five children. He is recovering from a compound fracture in his right arm.
