ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Malik Yoba, co-star of the FOX Hip-hop drama "Empire", spent a little time Thursday in the FOX2 studios showing just how much he knows about music. Yoba plays Vernon Turner, close friend to Empire Enterprises C.E.O. and music mogul Luscious Lyon (Terrence Howard).

Intrigue and backstabbing take over when Lyon's ex-wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) is released from prison early and then demands half the company her drug money started.

Turner does not sidestep any of the drama. He tackles it, as one of Lyon's sons seeks his help in taking over Empire.

Yoba is a veteran with the FOX Network.

He won many lifelong fans with his role as a detective on the series "New York Undercover", which ran in the 1990's. That series was also steeped in music with a Hip-hop and R&B soundtrack.

So, Kim tested him to see if he could identify the artists of several 1990's hits.
