ROBERTSVILLE, Mo. (AP) _ Authorities say officers shot two men in Robertsville after one of them drove a truck toward police during an auto theft investigation.
Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke says he doesn’t know the condition of the men who were taken to hospitals or where on their bodies they were struck.
The sheriff says St. Louis area police were investigating several auto thefts and tracked down the suspects in Franklin County. Officers surrounded a shed where one of the men drove the pickup through the garage door.
Police say officers fired at the vehicle, which had a male driver and two passengers.
Toelke says at least 10 law enforcement officers were at the scene and that it’s unclear which officer or officers hit the suspects.
The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating the shooting.
