ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – St. Louis`s MLK March is the second largest march in the nation, but this year that number grew because of events surrounding the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson last August.
Negative chants were heard throughout downtown city streets as protesters voiced their opinion both visually and vocally.
Marchers and protestors made their way through downtown starting from the Old Courthouse from Forth and Market Street to Harris Stowe University.
A separate group of protesters approached from the opposite direction, blocked off the street, and then made their way to Larry Rice's homeless shelter.
To commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day March, marchers attended an interfaith service at Harris Stowe University.
