ELSBERRY, MO (KTVI) - The Major Case Squad is working to determine if a 38-year-old mother of four was murdered. Harmony Culbreath was found dead in her rented home off Highway 79 south of Elsberry at 10:30 Tuesday night. Preliminary results from an autopsy Wednesday showed she had a gunshot wound, but it was not clear if that caused her death. More detailed information is expected Thursday.
A gun was found inside the rural home on Goodwood Trail. Friends tell FOX2 she bought a gun recently for protection. They said she failed to show up Tuesday night for a regular soccer game in St. Peters. That's when a teammate called the Lincoln County Sheriff's office to have deputies check on her.
Culbreath was a singer who performed regularly in a variety of venues in Wildwood, St. Charles, Swansea and Alton. She had three sons and an infant daughter and shared custody of the children with their fathers. Authorities said the children were safe, but declined to provide more information.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Case Squad by calling the Lincoln County Sheriff at 636-528-8546.
