ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Ronald Griffin has a junior at McKinley High School. He says his daughter is indirectly involved with an incident involving a fight and chaotic scene on campus last Friday.
“Words cannot express how we felt when we saw the video. It’s demoralizing for everyone involved. Everyone is a victim including the kids that had nothing to do with it because their reputation is tainted. In the era of Mike Brown and Eric Garner we have to be cognizant of our children.” said Griffin
While two parents say principal Earl Williams mishandled the situation and want him out, Griffin says Williams was transparent about events at the school and should stay.
“On Sunday Mr. Williams called families through a robo-call and informed them about events and what transpired on Friday.” Said Griffin.
On Thursday at least 10 parents along with students involved with the incident are expected to announce a plan on how they plan to move forward.
“There’s so much more positive that goes on and this one isolated incident that can’t be the determining factor to change a mindset about bringing their children there it’s a safe environment.” He said.
As the 72-hour deadline for the St. Louis city school district winds down regarding the fate of principal Williams. Griffin says students just want to get past the unfortunate incident as soon as possible.
