5 suspects charged in murder of St. Charles man

ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) – The residents of Crestview Apartments in St. Charles can breathe a sigh of relief. St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar announced charges against five suspects in Monday’s murder in St. Charles.

21-year-old Travon Johnson, 17-year-old Melech Porter, and 21-year-old Wardell Davison have been charged with murder, robbery and armed criminal action. Dennis Baker, 23, and Lamont Ware, 21, have been charged with robbery.

Authorities say the men drove to Crestview apartments on Ameristar Boulevard around 12:30 am early Monday morning in St. Charles to commit a robbery that resulted in the shooting death of 38-year-old Charles S. Dishman.  Dishman later died from a gunshot wound.

All five our suspects are from St. Louis and are being held at the St. Charles County Jail in lieu of bond.
