JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KTVI) – One Missouri lawmaker thinks he knows the reason congressional Republicans have tried and  failed 50 times to repeal Obamacare.  They have not been “manly” or “firm” enough to get the job done. It really says that.

House Resolution 99 introduced by Rep. Mike Moon says in part, “Each member of 53 the Missouri Congressional delegation endeavor with “manly firmness” and resolve to totally and completely repeal the Affordable Care Act, settling for no less than a full repeal.”

The language from Mike Moon is actually a direct quote from the Declaration of Independence. It refers to the opposition to King George’s invasions of the original American colonies.

The quirky language has gotten quite the response on Twitter.  It has even generated the hashtag #ManlyFirmness.  Legislators like Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill are chiming in.
