Disabled South American woman travels to St. Louis for life-altering treatment

ST. LOUIS – Nineteen-year-old Maria Del Carmen was born with a rare bone disease that left her struggling to get around without crutches. But she found hope for a brighter future some 3,000-miles away at Shriner's Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.

Tom O’Neal followed Del Carmen’s years-long story of complex surgeries and intensive rehabilitation on the road to a more normal life. He shares her story, tonight at 9 p.m.
