ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- The countdown is on for the big Mardi Gras weekend in Soulard. With an unseasonably cold forecast is in the picture, many Mardi Gras goers from far and near will be searching for ways to stay warm.

The good news is Johnnie Brocks still has plenty of attire to choose from with numerous warm options including special Mardi Gras themed gloves, hats, and sweatshirts as well as various colored boas that can substitute as scarves.

Local eateries and bars in the Soulard neighborhood like McGurk's are providing heaters to customers in their outdoor bar areas. Tents will also be available. And as always, indoor dining with some standing room will be available as well.

Festivities kick off with the parade at 11:00 Saturday morning.
