CAHOKIA, Ill. (KTVI) – Bobby Hughes is on the scene in the Fox 2 News Mazda Road Runner as a building on the 600 block of Falling Springs Road is experiencing an ongoing fire. The passing winds have fed the flames, which caused firefighters to change their plans of fighting the fire. Firefighters were originally on the roof trying to extinguish the flames, but the blowing wind grew the flames. Firefighters moved off the roof because it was deemed unsafe.

In addition to the wind, the cold temperature has not made the job any easier on firefighters. The water excess water from the fire hydrant has started to become solid.

Fox 2 will update this story as more information becomes available.
