Drugs, cash and suspect found in Metro East drug bust

EDWARDSVILLE ILLINOIS ( KTVI )- Two major drug raids in the Edwardsville .We talked with the agency   who made the bust. Both drug raids happened in Edwardsville earlier  in the  month.

The first big bust took place in home in rural edwardsville in the 8400 block of Fruit Road.

The Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southern Illinois drug found cannabis and more than $65,000 in cash. "I would caution people that we are increasing our enforcement efforts related to cannibis and it's not worth you going to prison ," said Derek Wise, Narcotic Commander Illinois State Police 

The investigation led police to a second location near the campus of Southern Illinois University  to the Enclave off-campus apartments. This time,  police discovered another lump sum of money in the amount of $15,000 dollars in cash

Alex Sandheinrich was charged in this case with unlawful delivery of drugs, a class 3 felony  having more than 30 grams of marijuana. Sanheinrich  posted bond of $75,000 and was released. He could face up to five years in prison.
