MERS/Goodwill initiative helping nearly 200 at-risk teens
ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Teens in several north county communities are learning that a tough upbringing doesn’t have to mean a hard life, thanks to a new initiative from MERS/Goodwill.
In 2014, MERS/Goodwill received an $810,000 grant from the Safer Foundation’s Midwest Reentry and Employment Network. Those funds were used to establish a program aimed at teenagers from the Dellwood, Ferguson, Jennings, Kinloch, Normandy, Pine Lawn, University City, and Wellston communities.
The teens receive job training and placement over the two-year duration of the program.
