The Blues recent losing funk continued on Tuesday night at Scottrade Center, dropping a 5-2 decision to the Montreal Canadiens. The Blues finish their four game home stand with an uncharacteristic 1-3 mark. The Canadiens scored the first two goals of the game, before captain David Backes got the Blues on the scoreboard. But Montreal scored two goals in a 49 second span to build a 4-1 cushion. T.J. Oshie’s 17th goal of the season cut the score to 4-2, but that’s as close as they would get in the game. Jake Allen surrendered five goals on just 23 shots faced and took his first loss of the 2015 calendar year.
