28-year-old man accused of assaulting 92-year-old girlfriend

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) – A 28-year-old man was arrested and charged with assaulting his 92-year-old girlfriend.

According to WMC, the woman’s daughter, who lives in the duplex next door, told police she heard her mother screaming, “Let go of me, you’re hurting me.”

Thomas Standley allegedly became angry and pushed the woman’s daughter out the door. She could still hear her mother yelling for Standley to leave her alone. The 92-year-old woman told police Standley was upset because she “didn’t want to take her medicine.”

Standley reportedly choked her, grabbed her arms, squeezed them, and violently shook her.  She refused medical treatment.

The woman told authorities that she’s scared of Standley and that he “hurts her all the time.”

He was charged with domestic assault and assault.
