ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - It's a weird weather Tuesday with temperatures making many in mound city feel like spring is near.

But Mother Nature isn't through kicking another wintry mix our way come Wednesday.

This is why some St. Louisans took advantage of a dreary day to get outside.

'You know you come at right time and today is the best time for fishing,' says Lucky Vorackach.

For Lucky Vorackach and his friend Rami, the crappie and catfish were biting.

In Forest Park where Steinberg is closed for the season the ducks on this lake were a reminder of the up and down weather, and only those with webbed feet should step on ice.

As Mark Twain is supposed to have said about Missouri weather, wait ten minutes and it'll change.

'Tomorrow is going to get colder but not today,' says Vorackach.  'You know we don't care. We are fishermen. If we like it we come.'

So there you have it, shorts today, snow pants tomorrow. Welcome to March.
