Vinita Park police arrest suspects on weapons charges

Vinita Park, MO (KTVI) – Monday the Vinita Park Police Department arrested two suspects on weapons charges. Police say officers stopped a suspicious vehicle on Page which had two adult males and one adult female in the vehicle.

Authorities say officers observed 28-year-old Jacob Simpson place two guns into vehicles glove compartment, as they approached the car. A search of the other male occupant, 35-year-old Craig Rohde, produced a concealed handgun in a shoulder holster and a 6 inch jagged knife.

A subsequent search of vehicle produced what is believed to be a large amount of crystallized methamphetamine, marijuana, a police scanner and several knives.

Simpson, Rohde and the female occupant were arrested.  Rohde has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and is being held on a bond o $15,000. Simpson is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, with a bond of $45,000. Both men are being held at the St. Louis County justice Center.

The suspected drugs have been sent to the St. Louis County Crime Lab for analysis. Drug charges are pending.
