JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KTVI) – Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster filed suit against a north St. Louis motor vehicle service provider for allegedly overcharging customers and conducting fraudulent vehicle emissions inspections.

According to the attorney general’s office, Three Hundred and Sixty Degrees Brake Service Inc. charged undercover inspectors from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources $100 for an emissions inspection, which is four times higher than businesses are allowed to charge for inspections.

During one of the undercover inspections, the DNR vehicle was augmented so it should have failed the malfunction indicator light tests. However, the company still gave the vehicle a pass.

Koster is asking state courts to issue an injunction against the business owner, Woodrow Jones Sr., and assess civil penalities.
