Speeding pickup crashes into tree and utility pole

ST. ANN, MO (KTVI) – A speeding driver is lucky to be alive after crashing his car into a tree and utility poles this Monday afternoon in St. Ann. Police say the driver of a pickup truck came around a corner going at least 80 miles per hour on Joachim Lane and Shamrock.

The impact snapped a tree in half and pulled down live wires from several telephone poles.

Charges are pending until toxicology results are released.
