911 call released after pregnant woman’s baby cut from womb

Suspect Dynel Catrece Lane, 34

LONGMONT, CO — A pregnant woman was stabbed on Thursday after answering an a Craigslist ad for baby clothes.  Police have now released the dramatic 911 call.

The dispatcher repeatedly told the victim to not go to sleep, reassuring her that help was on the way.  The pregnant woman’s baby was “removed” from her womb and she could be heard groggily telling a dispatcher the suspect, Dynel Lane, cut her with a knife.

The victim, who has not been identified, can be heard barely conscious describing what happened.

Caller: “She cut me”
Dispatcher: “Who cut you?”
Caller: “I’m downstairs, I don’t know.”
Dispatcher:”Hold on”
Caller: “Please, I’m downstairs…”
Dispatcher:”Who cut you?”
Caller: “It was a girl… She cut em with a knife in the stomach…”
Dispatcher:”She cut you in the stomach?”
Caller: “Yes, I’m pregnant…”
Dispatcher:”What is the suspect’s name?”
Caller: “I don’t remember…  I’m having trouble breathing”
Dispatcher:”Stay on the phone, don’t hang up. I’m trying to get everyone to you.”

The victim was eventually taken to the hospital.  She underwent surgery and is expected to recover. The women did not know each other.

Police said the 34-year-old suspect, identified as Dynel Catrece Lane, went to a hospital with the baby claiming a miscarriage. The baby did not survive.
