CASEYVILLE, IL (KTVI) – A Caseyville woman has been arrested and charged for two different crimes. Her first crime was running out on her cab fare and the second was possessing a controlled substance.

On March 16, Jessica Hunt refused to pay a taxi cab driver the fare she owed around 2:30 a.m. When officers were called onto the scene, they spotted Hunt running from the taxi cab. Hunt, 29, already had a felony warrant out of St. Clair County for possession of a controlled substance. Police searched her person and found a hypodermic syringe and heroin in her pocket. Hunt paid the taxi driver before she was taken to the police station.

On March, 18, St. Clair County charged Hunt with unlawful possession. Her bail is set at $25,000.

The results of the investigation were presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office for review
