LOS ANGELES (AP) – Justin Bieber’s former neighbor has sued for assault and battery, claiming the pop singer spit on him during a discussion nearly two years ago.

Jeffrey Schwartz and his wife, Suzanne, sued Bieber in Los Angeles Superior Court for unspecified damages in excess of $25,000.

The lawsuit claims Bieber spit in Jeffrey Schwartz’s face during a dispute over the singer driving too fast in their Calabasas neighborhood.

Bieber moved out of the neighborhood after throwing eggs at Schwartz’s home, causing roughly $80,000 in damage.

The 21-year-old remains on probation after being charged with vandalism. He has repaid the family restitution for the damage he caused to their home.

An email to Bieber’s publicist Melissa Victor was not immediately returned.

The couple also claims Bieber caused them emotional distress because of loud parties and dangerous driving in their neighborhood.
