Suspect in brother’s death to go on trial in November

MARBLE HILL, Mo. (AP) _ A southeast Missouri man accused of fatally shooting his brother will go on trial in November.

A Bollinger County judge on Wednesday set a trial date of Nov. 19 for 43-year-old Lonnie Liley.

He is charged with second-degree murder in the January shooting death of his brother, 50-year-old Jessie Liley, at a trailer in rural Bollinger County.

The Southeast Missourian reports the trial is expected to take about four days.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, Lonnie Liley told police he shot his brother in self-defense.
