FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – Police are looking for the public’s help to identify looters that hit Citi Trends on the night of August 10, 2014. Images from a surveillance camera have been released to help identify the thieves.
St. Louis County Police say the looters hit the store at about 11:50pm on the night of August 10th. 28 people are identified in the video walking out to the shop with merchandise. The business reports $5,500 in damage and $16,125 in theft.
The looting was in response to the shooting death of Michael Brown. The 18-year-old was shot and killed the afternoon of August 9th, 2014. Demonstrations turned to looting and then to riots in the weeks and months following the death. Officer Darren Wilson was not indicted by a grand jury for shooting Michael Brown.
Police have been releasing surveillance footage of looting suspects every Tuesday. They are looking for the public’s help to identify looters that hit many Ferguson businesses.
