ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Homicide detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were called to investigate a shooting in south city Friday afternoon, just a short time after responding to a separate murder scene less than two miles away.

According to police, the second shooting occurred in 4200 block of Grace Avenue, located about two blocks away from Ted Drewes on S. Grand Boulevard.

The victim, an unidentified woman, was shot in the head. Neighbors said they heard gunshots earlier around 3 p.m. but thought nothing of it. It took nearly two hours for the victim to be discovered. A teenager found her lying in an alley.

Just a short time earlier, detectives responded to a triple shooting in the 4400 block of Itaska Street in the Bevo neighborhood. That shooting left two people dead.
