ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Homicide detectives with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a triple shooting in the Bevo neighborhood that left two dead.

According to Schron Jackson, a police spokeswoman, the shooting took place around 2:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Itaska Street.

Two people, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. The third shooting victim, a woman, was rushed to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.

The three victims, identified as a father and his two daughters, lived in a boarding house.  All were found in one bedroom.  It’s not the first murder on this street this year.

“We had a homicide earlier in the year on this block and it doesn’t appear to be related to this it’s just a coincidence sometimes that does happen,” said Lt. John Green, homicide commander for the SLMPD.

But the people here don’t like violent coincidences.

“It’s getting bad, it wasn’t like that when I moved up here,” said resident Ray Carroll.

Nathan Cromwell lives with his family on Itaska.

“We don’t like this stuff, but you can’t help when people bring crime to your area,” he said.

The investigation is ongoing. Police suspect one of the victim's ex-boyfriends may be the shooter, but did not provide a description.
