90-year-old twins, WWII Veterans honored at Blues game

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- Two World War II veterans were honored as the USO Service Members of the Game at the St. Louis Blues game on Monday night. Bill and Lloyd Rupp, are 90-year-old twins, born Oct. 10, 1924. Both attended Saint Louis University High School. In a recent profile, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Bill McClellan wrote that both enlisted in the Marine Corps the day after they graduated in June 1942.

Lloyd went to New Guinea, where he was a rear gunner on a dive bomber. Bill went to Midway and was an anti-aircraft gunner.

After the war, the brothers settled in north St. Louis County.
