ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - The shooting death of 6-year-old Marcus Johnson, Junior has sparked an outpouring of support from the community. The boy was shot and killed earlier this month near O`Fallon Park. His family was struggling to pay funeral expenses. Ronald L. Jones Funeral Home and Alderman Antonio French teamed up to raise money for the family.

The community donated enough to cover the cost of the funeral and more.

Johnson's family was given a check for more than $12,000 Tuesday, but everyone involved is still hurting.

Johnson's brother was also wounded in the shooting.
