After a two day layoff due to bad weather in Chicago, the Cardinals 2015 season resumed on Wednesday at Wrigley Field. The only problem, the Cards forgot their bats. Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta and four relief pitchers shut out the Cardinals on just three hits. Lance Lynn was the tough luck loser. He pitched into the seventh inning, allowing just one earned run, while striking out nine. Lynn’s wild pickoff throw started the Cubs rally. Starlin Castro’s single scored Anthony Rizzo for a 1-0 lead. Miguel Montero’s sacrifice fly gave Chicago a 2-0 cushion.

The loss drops the Cardinals record to 1-1. St. Louis returns to action on Friday, when they play the Reds in Cincinnati. John Lackey will get the start for the Cardinals.
